“Axioma Servisas” to implement yet another renovation project for “Klaipėdos Energija”

Energija Klaipėdos Energija AB is taking another step to increase the efficiency of the district boiler plant (DBP) – it has signed an agreement with Axioma Servisas UAB, under which it is planned to install an electrostatic precipitator for two biofuel boilers. Last year, Axioma Servisas installed another technological innovation in this boiler plant – an absorption heat pump featuring a flue gas condensing economiser.

Modern technologies and innovative equipment allow to increase the efficiency of boiler plants and stabilise the heat price. This has become particularly relevant this year, as the costs of heat production have reached record high levels – not only raw materials (biofuels and gas), but also business expenses and taxes have risen.

The team of Axioma Servisas will take care of Klaipėdos Energija project on a turnkey basis. It will perform the preparation of the engineering design, selection and supply of equipment, construction, installation, testing and start-up and tune-up works. The engineering design is currently being developed.

The electrostatic precipitator manufactured by All In Container will clean the flue gas entering the ambient air through the chimney. After the implementation of the innovation, the amount of particulate matter emitted into the environment by Klaipėdos Energija boiler plant will decrease to 20 mg/m3. In this way, the company will contribute to a better air quality in the port city.

“The main challenge of this project is to fit the electrostatic precipitator and its auxiliary equipment in a small area, where the absorption heat pump and other equipment important for the boiler plant have already been installed by our team,” said Andrius Šetkauskis, the Head of Klaipėda Service Division.

The experienced partners will also contribute to the renovation of Klaipėdos Energija district boiler plant, and will carry out design, equipment production and start-up works, as well as production of metal structures.

The project will be completed by May next year, while installation of the innovative precipitator will begin as early as this September.

The Lithuanian Environmental Investment Fund Programme will finance a part of the costs of Klaipėdos Energija project according to the funds allocation directions of the Lithuanian Environmental Investment Fund Programme for 2020–2022.
