Axioma Servisas team to contribute to the installation of storage capacity in Klaipėda

Axioma Servisas UAB, which provides maintenance services to industrial and infrastructure companies, is happy to be able to contribute to the implementation of yet another modernization project for the company that supplies heat and hot water to the city of Klaipėda. Having won the public procurement, the company’s team undertook to carry out remote monitoring and control of storage capacity parameters, installation of equipment controls and electricity supply equipment.

The purpose of the installed storage capacity is to ensure stable load of biofuel boilers and to reduce the amount of fossil fuel burned, as the energy demand of the centralized heat supply system from the boiler room changes. When the heat demand for centralized heating falls below the nominal capacity of the biofuel boilers, the surplus heat energy produced by the biofuel boilers is stored in the storage capacity, which allows for the stable operation of the boilers. At the moment when natural gas boilers should normally be started, the storage capacity still allows to use the energy that was previously produced with cheaper fuel and stored in the storage capacity. The specialists will perform the installation and tuning of this capacity management system and power supply equipment for this company.

“Our team will implement a project of this nature in an energy company for the first time – it will be a new challenge for technologists. Also, the storage capacity installation project was carried out in parts, without the help of the general contractor. Therefore, combining the parts implemented so far and launching them to operation will also be a challenge”, said Andrius Šetkauskis, the Head of Klaipėda Service Division.

Axioma Servisas team will supply electrical and automation equipment, perform its installation, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and object programming, as well as commissioning, tuning and testing of the entire system, and preparation of technical documentation.

A team of 20 specialists will contribute to the implementation of this project, including electrical automation specialists, service engineers, programmers, and other Axioma Servisas professionals.

The value of the contract signed with this company in April amounts to as much as 510 thousand euros.
