Axioma servisas contributes to start-up of new air separation plant

This year, the summer of Axioma Servisas, the company rendering predominantly maintenance services, was intense and productive. The company signed a number of high-value contracts and implemented numerous projects. One of the most unique objects on its list is the new plant of Linde Gas (formerly AGA).

At Linde Gas air separation plant to be commissioned at the end of this year, Axioma Servisas performed the automation and electrical equipment assembly, connection, start-up and tune-up works.

At a peak period, the team of over twenty Axioma Servisas specialists were working at the company, including automation experts, assemblers, service engineers, project managers and supervisors. They carried out the installation and calibration of air compressors, gas heaters, water coolers, distillation column monitoring and control equipment devices, connected the specialised German electro technical and control system containers and installed territory lighting. The automation control start-up and tune-up works were later added to this list of works.

“Due to the current coronavirus situation, Linde Engineering specialists, who were supposed to perform the start-up and tune-up works, were unable to arrive to the site. Having familiarised with the qualification of our team, they entrusted all responsibilities for organisation of calibration and start-up and tune-up works of the automation devices and control equipment to us. It is a great complement, because Linde Engineering designs and builds industrial gas production plants that conform to the most stringent requirements,” said Robertas Abraškevičius, Project Manager of Kaunas Automation Division.

The company performing unique activities – production of industrial oxygen and nitrogen, will be located in Kėdainiai Free Economic Zone (FEZ) and will become an excellent example of automated production of the future: all the processes will be performed by state-of-the-art equipment, while workers will only perform the function of system and technologies maintenance. This will be the second air separation plant in the Baltic States. The first plant has been successfully operating for more than 12 years in Latvia.
