Axioma Servisas continues active participation in public procurement procedures. In October, the company won the tender for installation of absorption heat pump at Petrašiūnai Power Plant of Kauno Energija. This is the second project for installation of pump of this type this year.
At Petrašiūnai Power Plant of Kauno Energija, the company is planning to install the absorption heat pump of the South Korean manufacturer, including the second-degree flue gas condensing economizer.
Upon implementation of the project, the additional heat quantity will be produced from the exhaust gas generated in the process of combustion, the temperature of which reaches 45 °C. It will be dedicated to heat up the heating water supplied to biofuel-fired boilers. Introduction of this solution will not only increase efficiency of the boiler plant, but will also contribute to reduction of costs of production and supply of heat to consumers.
A rather short period of less than two months has been planned for the completion of installation of the absorption heat pump. It is expected that the installation will be put into operation already at the end of July of the coming year.
“Today we see only one major risk – delayed delivery of equipment due to the globally worsening situation with COVID-19. If the pessimistic forecasts are confirmed and delivery of the pump and all the components is delayed, we would have a very tight schedule for installation and start-up works,” said Andriejus Gološčapovas, Kaunas Division Project Manager.
Petrašiūnai Thermal Power Plant is the main backup heat generation source in the entire integrated city’s heat supply network, therefore its reconstruction and modernisation remains one of the priorities of Kauno Energija AB.
