“Axioma Servisas” has contributed to the successful renewal of the production lines of the furniture manufacturing company “Freda“. The relocation of the furniture panel production line was completed in the second half of March, and a new, even larger production line was launched into operation in April, which will increase the productivity of the furniture manufacturing company.
Conveyors, machines, milling equipment and four ABB robots were moved from the branch in Aleksotas to the new furniture factory in Kaunas FEZ. In addition, the new factory was supplemented with a 40-meter-long production line, the installation of which was performed by the team of the Kaunas branch of “Axioma Servisas”.
The greatest challenge was the physical relocation of equipment – 20 loads have been transported by trucks. “The company is large, so it was necessary to carefully coordinate the appropriate time for transportation in order not to interrupt the production of furniture panels. After agreeing on the transportation time, 3-4 trucks had to be loaded each day to ensure that the furniture manufacturing company did not fall behind the agreed schedules,” said Tomas Kupstas, Project Manager.
Part of the furniture company is located on Piliakalnio street in Kaunas, but with the rapid growth of production volumes, it was decided to optimise the processes and move some production lines to single premises – the factory opened in the beginning of 2019, located in Kaunas Free Economic Zone (FEZ).
Upgrading and expanding the production lines will increase Freda’s production efficiency and reduce panel transportation costs, which is currently particularly relevant.
