Large-scale equipment upgrades continue at Kaunas MBA facilities

Axioma Servisas continues to actively cooperate with environmental management companies in the country. After signing three new contracts in the spring, the company’s team undertook to upgrade specific equipment at the Kaunas MBA facilities owned by the Kaunas Region Waste Management Center.

The work includes the repair of conveyors, blade separators, and plastic separation and sorting equipment. The total value of the work exceeds €750,000.

Renovation of three conveyors

The company has already completed a comprehensive repair of three conveyors used to transport biodegradable materials. Worn components such as rollers, bearings, and cleaners were replaced.

“Thanks to a professional team and good work planning, the renovation was completed smoothly and even faster than expected,” says Tomas Gerdauskas, head of the Vilnius service department.

Repair of magnetic separators

Two refurbished magnetic separators, which sort collected waste and separate small fractions, have already been successfully installed at the customer’s site. Worn parts were replaced during the repair. “The work on this project was also completed ahead of schedule. I am proud of our Equipment Repair Department team,” notes T. Gerdauskas.

Modernization of plastic sorting equipment

Four Uni Sort machines are currently being repaired at the facility. This includes dismantling old components, installing new ones, programming, and commissioning and adjustment work.

“The technological equipment is being upgraded in cooperation with one of the world leaders in waste sorting equipment manufacturing, Steinert. This ensures the highest quality of work,” says T. Gerdauskas.

Many years of experience

“We are very familiar with the Kaunas MBA facility and its equipment – we have been performing maintenance and repair work here for many years. We are delighted with the customer’s trust and the opportunity to implement projects of this scale,” emphasizes the head of the Vilnius service department.

About the client

The Kaunas mechanical biological waste treatment facilities, which have been operating since 2016, treat mixed municipal waste from Jonava, Kaišiadorys, Raseiniai, and the city and district of Kaunas. At the facilities, waste is mechanically separated and sorted: secondary raw materials are sent for recycling or other uses (e.g., energy production), while biodegradable waste is composted.
