The team of Axioma Servisas, a company providing equipment support and maintenance services to the industry, is proud of its new partnership with the German wood fibreboard manufacturer Homanit Lietuva. In the newly built Homanit Lietuva plant, Axioma Servisas has been carrying out various equipment installation works since October.
The largest plant in Lithuania being built in Pagiriai of Vilnius District will manufacture medium (MDF) and high (HDF) compressed wood fibreboard, the thickness of which will range between 1.5 and 22 millimetres. The manufactured components will be supplied to companies specialising in the furniture, door and parquet industry both in Lithuania and abroad. This will be the fourth manufacturing company of the Homanit Group with capacity reaching approx. 260 thousand m3 of boards per year, which will make up about 25% of the products manufactured by the entire group.
Production and administrative buildings, a warehouse and a research and development centre are being built on a 77-hectare plot of land.
According to the first contract signed with the Homanit, Axioma Servisas’ specialists will install Dieffenbacker electrical engineering and automation equipment in the 49.5 MW thermal oil heating unit.
The thermal oil heating unit is one of the largest and most complex structures in the entire plant, the construction of which will require the use of more than 500 tonnes of steel. In the coming months, the team of Axioma Servisas will deploy as many as 1.5 thousand metres of cable routes and more than 30 thousand metres of cables, and will connect up to 700 controllers of electrical equipment and automation devices.
The second cooperation contract provides for the performance of installation and connection of technological equipment, electrical equipment, process control and automation, control and power panel cable structures and cable in the main building of the Homanit Lietuva plant.
Homanit Lietuva plant will create the entire added valued chain, from the refining of raw wood to the complete processing of panels and distribution of manufactured products. Homanit Lietuva plant in Pagiriai will be the fourth production company of the group, which will start its operations in 2023. “This largest greenfield investment in Lithuania will provide a strong boost to the entire country’s furniture industry. Lithuania is already one of the centres of furniture production. After the arrival of Homanit, the leadership of this sector will become even more prominent and will strengthen the position of Lithuanian companies in the global market,” emphasised Andrius Ostrauskas, CEO of Homanit Lietuva.
The company operates in the Saarland in Germany and in Karlino and Krosno in Poland. Three plants employ about 1.5 thousand people, while the total turnover of the Homanit Group amounts to 385 million euros.
