UAB “Axioma Servisas,” a provider of industrial equipment installation, dismantling, and relocation services, contributed to the setup of yet another factory. In February, the team from the Kaunas service branch successfully completed the installation of equipment for an animal feed production line at the newly constructed Kormotech factory in Kėdainiai.
The impressive scope of the project
The installed animal feed production line consists of a 6-meter-high elevator, a grinder, support structures, belt conveyors, 8 silos, a meat grinder, a mixer, a separator, and other process equipment.
It took as many as 30 truck trips to deliver all the equipment to the site. Unloading took place in December, and intensive installation work continued for two months—January and February.
Logistical and Technical Challenges
Due to the equipment’s exceptional dimensions and weight, the project required extremely meticulous planning and coordination. Since some of the equipment could not fit through the existing openings into the building, the building’s exterior wall had to be temporarily dismantled. Once the equipment was brought in, the wall was reassembled. Since transportation took place in several stages, this process had to be repeated more than once.
“The biggest challenges arose from the limited installation space. For example, eight silos had to be installed in a single line and at the same height, ensuring precise alignment. The weight of a single unit exceeds 5 tons, so this task required the entire team’s focus and professionalism,” says project manager Tomas Kupstas.

An additional challenge was the equipment layout plan, which was revised during the course of the project. The installation process was coordinated by representatives of the equipment manufacturers from France and Denmark, and some of the technical solutions were modified while the work was already underway. The limited space made these changes an additional challenge for the team.
Teamwork and Experience
The entire Kaunas equipment installation team at Axioma Servisas contributed to the project’s implementation.
“The experience we’ve gained installing similar types of technological equipment allowed us to ensure a smooth workflow and the highest precision even under difficult conditions—carrying out the work in 20-degree freezing temperatures,” says T. Kupstas.
About the Client
