At the end of last year, Axioma Servisas successfully completed the installation of electrical and automation equipment at the new Mestilla factory.
The factory, located in the Klaipėda Free Economic Zone (FEZ), is currently gradually starting operations, with technological tests already underway.
Large-scale work
UAB Mestilla is one of the largest biodiesel producers in the Baltic States. As part of its expansion, a new factory was built, where specialists from the Klaipėda branch carried out the installation and commissioning of electrical and automation equipment.
Approximately 90 kilometers of cables were laid on the factory premises, more than 800 measuring devices were installed, and cable routes, electrical cabinets, junction boxes, safety keys, and control stations were set up.
After completing the installation work, the team performed cold commissioning (without voltage) tests and prepared all the necessary technical documentation.
Later, Axioma Servisas commissioners, together with representatives of technology suppliers, participated in the joint launch of the Mestilla factory.
A team of more than 35 specialists
All E/A equipment installation and commissioning work was completed in just 7 months, in accordance with a tight schedule. More than 35 qualified specialists worked on the site at the same time.
“The deadlines were really ambitious, so the decision to start work before the installation of the technological equipment was completed proved to be the right one. This allowed us to optimize time and ensure that the project was implemented according to the planned schedule,” says Raimondas Beinorius, Head of the Automation Department at Axioma Serviso.
One of the biggest challenges of the project was the installation of cable routes before the piping was installed. A 3D project model was used to solve this problem, allowing for precise planning of passages and distances and avoiding potential errors.
