UAB Axioma Servisas, which repairs mechanical, rotating and other industrial equipment, contributes to the renewal of Lithuania’s infrastructure equipment. At the end of July, a public tender for the provision of repair services to AB Amber Grid, the Lithuanian gas transmission system operator, was awarded.
Gas distribution station equipment upgraded
One of the components of the Lithuanian natural gas transmission system operated by Amber Grid is the gas distribution station in Vilnius. The gas is heated by three gas-fired boilers at the station before it is transferred to heat producers.
In preparation for the upcoming heating season, it was decided to carry out repairs to the system’s components, i.e. the pipes and the pipes in bundles.
Three gas boilers repaired
Axioma Servisas specialists have carried out repairs on three gas boilers installed in a distribution station.
Within a timeframe agreed with the client, worn out components were removed, new pipes were installed and six grate boxes were manufactured and installed. Once the installation work was completed, the gas preheating system was filled with ethylene glycol and hydraulic tests were carried out. This verified the tightness of the entire system.
Tight deadlines
“The main challenge of the project was the tight deadline. According to a plan agreed in advance with the customer, the gas distribution station was shut down, requiring repairs to three boilers,” says Aurimas Bagdanavičius, Head of Equipment Repair, Vilnius Service Division.
