How Alfa Laval Extend works and is installed
The Alfa Laval Extend device sends a weak, 24 V, direct current (DC) electric current (~5 W) through the heat exchanger plates and changes their surface charge. Bacterial cells often have a negative surface charge, and when this is changed by the Extend device, electrical repulsion occurs and bacteria are prevented from adhering.
