The automation specialists of the Vilnius division will shortly start installation of ABB palletizing robot at only full-cycle poultry farming and chicken meat products production plant in Latvia. This will be the second robot of this type to be installed by Axioma Servisas team – the first robot was put into operation at the fibre hemp stalk processing plant.
The Swiss robot characterised with exceptional accuracy will be used for the transfer of food products from conveyors to pallets, which will be placed in a marked area by an employee. The products will be arranged according to the layout provided in advance and prepared for transportation by simply moving the pallet to the storage facility.
Gytis Pratašius, the project manager, named the palletizing robot’s ability to work the entire day without breaks and palletize a higher quantity of products than a man can, its strongest advantage. Moreover, the risk of errors, probability of traumas and hygiene problems are reduced to a maximum, while manual work becomes easier.
“Production and warehousing, like other industrial areas, are continuously improving. It is exciting to know that an increasing number of companies are looking for ways to robotise and atomise these areas with implementation of new technological solutions, while we are able to offer just that,” said Gytis Pratašius, Project Manager of the Vilnius Automation Division of Axioma Servisas.
The palletizing robot made of stainless steel and suitable for contact with food, the conveyor and the rest of integrated equipment will reach Axioma Servisas’ warehouse in the first half of October. The team of Axioma Servisas specialists will leave to the poultry plant immediately after delivery to perform the robot installation, programming, start-up and tune-up works. Hopefully, the plans will not be disrupted by the escalating coronavirus situation and the plant will be able to launch operation of the new ABB robot in the beginning of November.
