Visagino Energija UAB, which supplies district heat and cold and hot water to the residents of Visaginas Municipality, continues the project of modernisation of water metering devices, the main partner of which is Axioma Servisas company. After winning the public tender, the company undertook to supply the necessary equipment for the implementation of the renovation, i.e., smart water meters, as well as assembly and installation services.
During the project, a total of 1,103 water metering devices installed in apartment buildings will be modernised. The mechanical meters used for a long period will be replaced with innovative metering devices of the German manufacturer Qundis, the data from which will be read remotely.
The Axioma Service team is expected to start the installation work as soon as the end of this year. The water meters of the apartment buildings located on Draugystės, Partizanų, Kosmoso, Jaunystės and Veteranų streets and Taikos Avenue will be replaced within 6 months.
“One of the conditions of the signed contract is to carry out all installation work during the day – until 6 p.m. During this time, the residents of the apartments are usually away at work. I hope that the installation specialists and residents will cooperate smoothly in order to have the work implemented on time”, Jonas Vaitkus, the project manager, shares his thoughts on the challenges.
After the implementation of the project, residents will no longer need to record and declare water meter readings themselves, instead, correct and accurate data will be automatically transmitted to the supplier. This will make it possible to abandon the monthly checks of meter readings and make the everyday life of residents easier.
Nearly 11 thousand household users and 300 industrial and commercial users use the heat energy, hot and cold water supply services provided by Visagino Energija.
