“Alytaus šilumos tinklai”, controlled by Alytus City Municipality, is continuing the modernisation of the heat supply system – a number of upgrades are expected before the start of the next heating season, which will further increase the security and reliability of the system, which is important for the whole city. Some of the upgrades will be performed by the team of Axioma Servisas UAB, which has accumulated many years of experience in heating industry services. Two projects will be implemented at the Alytus District Boiler Plant by the company’s specialists – replacement of the technically worn-out heat network pumps and upgrade of the boiler control and visualization (SCADA) systems of the biofuel boiler plant.
Renovation of heat network pumps
During one of the projects, two heat network pumps will be dismantled together with the connecting pipeline, valves, reverse valves, as well as electrical and control cables. This will be followed by the installation of a new horizontal network pump and all constituents.
“We will have to execute some of the works during the planned shutdown of the boiler plane in June. All the preparatory works in the pipelines need to be carried out within a week so that the new Apex HS pump can be installed and connected later,” said Donatas Naruševičius, Project Manager.
The “Axioma Servisas” team will take care of the design, equipment supply, dismantling, installation, programming, start-up and tune-up works. The construction and technological work, such as the preparation of the pump foundation and the installation of the pump, will be entrusted to the partners.
Boiler control and visualisation (SCADA) system upgrade
The second project will focus on the upgrade of the biofuel boiler control and visualisation (SCADA) system ABB 800xA, computer equipment and its control elements. The modernisation works are planned to be carried out during the planned shutdown in September.
“The main challenge of the project is the duplicate operation of servers with the turbine system installed by the German company. All the planned configuration works are coordinated with the German contractors, as they will have to be completed during their short visit to Lithuania,” said Jurgita Rimkevičienė, Project Manager.
After the replacement of the heat network pumps and the update of the boiler control and visualisation (SCADA) system, the boiler plant system supplying heat and hot water to the residents of Alytus will become much safer and more reliable.
