Axioma servisas has taken a significant step in expanding its product range by signing a partnership agreement with the globally recognized Canadian manufacturer, Thordon Bearings.
Thordon Bearings specializes in developing and manufacturing polymer bearings and shaft components that eliminate oil and grease lubrication. These innovative products include self-lubricating, water-lubricated and grease-free bearings and seals, as well as other systems that ensure durability, reliability, lower maintenance costs as well as environmental sustainability.
The products are widely applicable in the marine, hydropower, vertical pump, and various other industrial sectors where efficiency and environmental protection are essential.
A Partnership for a Sustainable Future
“The partnership with Thordon Bearings not only allows the Lithuanian market to access globally recognized pollution-free bearing technologies but is also a significant step toward a more sustainable industrial future. We believe these are relevant and widely applicable products that will quickly find their place in our customers’ operations,” said Gintautas Gaižauskas, Commercial Director of Axioma servisas.
Eco-Friendly and Sustainable Products
The design of Thordon’s bearings and seals are highly durable and require minimal maintenance. They do not require lubrication with oil or grease, saving both maintenance time and operating costs.
One of the most significant advantages of Thordon’s products is eco-friendliness. Their bearings completely prevent potential oil and grease leaks, as all products are lubricated with seawater, potable water, or other fluids with a pH of 3 to 11 (depending on the bearing material). In limited motion applications, the bearings can run dry. This allows clients to eliminate fluids that pose significant pollution risks and are hazardous to the environment.
Unique Polymer Materials for Different Operating Environments
The bearings are made from proprietary polymer materials characterized by a low coefficient of friction and excellent wear resistance.
Thordon materials include ThorPlas-Blue, ThorPlas-White, XL, SXL, RiverTough and Composite (GM2401). Each material has unique properties, such as resistance to acids or alkalis, abrasive resistance, and high temperatures.
Applications Across Industries
Thordon products are extensively used in the merchant marine fleet, workboat, fishing, navy and offshore markets offering advanced propeller shaft bearings and seals, rudder bearings, deck equipment bearings and shaft seals.
For the hydropower sector, Thordon provides water-lubricated turbine guide bearings, wicket gate and linkage bearings, operating ring bearings, shaft sealing solutions, and water conditioning systems as well as for tidal and river power plants.
Thordon offers several bearing grades used in vertical pumps, water management and wastewater treatment, paper and cardboard production. Additionally, they are also used in the food industry, such as beverage filling equipment, mixers, and carcass processing hooks.
As of January 1, 2025, Axioma servisas is the official representative of Thordon Bearings in Lithuania.
