In autumn last year, Axioma servisas added a new service to its basket – metrological verification of gas analysers and alarms. Single-channel and multi-channel analysers have started to be tested in an accredited laboratory, and certificates and special labels are being issued to devices that meet the requirements. The new service is being actively used by companies in a wide range of industries, and the laboratory’s specialists are delighted with their first regular customers.
A long-term contract is signed with a water management company
At the beginning of the year, UAB Utenos vandenys was awarded a public tender for the metrological verification of gas analysers and gas leakage sensors used in the company.
These devices will be subject to metrological verification twice a year. A total of 20 gas analysers and 20 gas leakage sensors will be inspected at Utenos vandenys, a company that produces, supplies and collects drinking water and treats wastewater. The cooperation agreement, signed for a period of 24 months, stipulates that the client will deliver the instruments to the laboratory in Vilnius and that the metrological verification will be carried out within 5 days.
Gas analysers – a common device in other businesses and apartment buildings
Analysers that signal elevated levels of hazardous substances in the ambient air can be found in a wide range of industrial plants and even in apartment blocks, office buildings, kindergartens and restaurants.
City Service Engineering, a company that manages and maintains more than 3,000 such facilities across Lithuania, has also become a user of the new service. Over the course of several months, the qualified laboratory technicians of Axioma servisas have carried out periodic metrological inspections of more than 50 gas analysers.
Metrological verification required for all analysers
In accordance with the procedure laid down by the Metrology Law of the Republic of Lithuania, all explosive or toxic gas analysers and alarms used on the premises of companies must undergo a timely metrological check. These instruments shall be subject to a specific procedure for assessing the compliance of the metrological parameters of the measuring instruments with the specified requirements.
Metrological checks must be carried out every 6 months, and failure to produce valid documents after an inspection by the authorities authorised by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania could result in a financial penalty of up to €10,000.
