Axioma servisas, which has won the tender announced by Vilniaus vandenys, will continue to provide maintenance and repair services for the wastewater treatment plant in Vilnius city. It has been agreed that Vilniaus vandenys will purchase the services on demand, and the maximum amount of maintenance services will not exceed 970 thousand EUR. The maximum amount of the contract is EUR 100,000.
The main challenge
“The main challenge for our team is to make sure that Vilnius’ wastewater treatment plants, which are important for the whole capital, operate without emergency breakdowns. And if an accident does happen, we guarantee promptness. Our experience also allows us to ensure the speed of pre-planned repairs for these specific installations, as required by the customer. Some works, such as the modernisation of complex equipment, require special preparation by our team,” said Vytautas Krušinskas, Head of the unit.
Among the mechanical equipment maintained by Axioma servisas at Vilniaus vandenai are conveyors, granulators, dryers, a biogas treatment plant, various feed and feed pumps, fans, mixers and air compressors. The company also takes care of preventive maintenance of part of the automatic control panels, the SCADA system, temperature gauges, gas leak detectors and sensors.
Difficult situations
According to Vytautas Krušinskas, since 2017 Axioma servisas, which has been servicing wastewater treatment plants, has faced a number of difficult situations, but has managed to resolve all challenges.
Among them is a case of a burst sewage pipe in an underground communication canal. “A burst pipe had to be boiled, but the canal was full of gas as well as water. We took immediate preventive action. Using special equipment, together with the forces of Vilniaus vandenys, we ventilated and drained the canal,” says the Head of the unit.
Working since 2017
Axioma servisas signed its first maintenance and repair contract for wastewater treatment plants with Vilniaus vandenys in 2017. After winning another public tender, Axioma servisas added to the list of equipment to be repaired the technological equipment at the sludge treatment plants.
Vilniaus vandenys supplies drinking water and manages wastewater for more than 255,000 people. The company operates in Vilnius City and the municipalities of Vilnius, Švenčionys and Šalčininkai. The company delivers over 98,000 cubic metres of water per day, collects and treats more than 111,000 cubic metres of water per day. 111 cubic metres of wastewater is collected and treated.
