Axioma Servisas UAB continues to provide equipment repair and maintenance services in facilities of national importance. One of such facilities is SE Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, which manages the nuclear heritage of Lithuania, in which the company will continue to take care of the technical maintenance and repair of equipment manufactured by Sick Maihak manufacturer.
After the announcement of the public procurement, the specialists of the Vilnius Division met the specified qualification requirements and requirements of occupational safety and health regulatory acts, and undertook to ensure smooth operation of the multicomponent gas analysis system MCS100E and the general hydrocarbon volume analyzer with the sampling sensor EURO FID 3010 for another three years.
“We are glad that we have earned the trust of the client and will be able to continue work in this facility. We are familiar with the automatic exhaust flue gas monitoring system equipment of Sick Maihak manufacturer, so we are ready for the maintenance and repair work,” said Miroslav Januškevič, head of the Vilnius Operations Group.
Maintenance and repair services will be provided in a controlled area, access to which is strictly regulated. Axioma Servisas specialists will have to receive and follow a special briefing on protection against ionizing radiation and radioactive pollution.
The Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant is the only one of its kind in the Baltic States, which operated in 1983-2009. Two nuclear RBMK-1500 reactors, a thermal capacity of one of which amounted to 4,800 MW, and the power plant – 1,500 MW, produced about 80 per cent of electricity required to meet the needs of Lithuania. After the nuclear power plant disaster in Chernobyl, the decision was made to close all Soviet RBMK-type reactors in Europe. The Ignalina nuclear power plant closure works will last another 15 years, i.e. until 2038.
