Axioma serviso’s laboratory has been awarded an accreditation certificate confirming the international quality of the application of granulometric analysis and the quality of test results. The company started providing granulometric analysis – the determination of the size distribution of fuel particles – at the end of 2017.
“In response to our customers’ needs, we are constantly looking for new activities and aim to expand the range of services we offer. We have successfully launched our operations in Latvia and currently serve biofuel boiler houses and biofuel suppliers in Riga, Liepaja, Cēsis, Valmiera and Duobele. For the convenience of our customers, we have set up an account in Latvian to access the laboratory’s database,” said Artūras Lopeta, Managing Director of Axioma servisas.
According to the Lithuanian National Accreditation Bureau, the Axioma servisas laboratory is so far the only one in Lithuania that performs an accredited fuel particle size distribution test. The aim of the test is to find out the size distribution of fuel particles, to find out how many and what size fuel particles are present in a sample.
Practice shows that often the basic fuel parameters of moisture content, ash content and calorific value alone do not reveal the true quality of the fuel. Even very good quality fuels may contain a large number of fine particles, such as sawdust, which are detrimental to combustion quality. This reduces the efficiency of the boiler.
Axioma serviso’s laboratory, which has been operating since 2012 and uses modern equipment from German and US manufacturers, tests all types of biofuels. The laboratory is currently able to carry out 364 total moisture content, 43 ash content and 43 calorific value tests per day. Since its inception, the Axioma serviso laboratory has carried out more than 218 000 biofuel tests.
